Tooth coloured restorations also known as white or composite fillings can be done to restore a tooth. White fillings, due to the composite bond used, provide a strong attachment without the risk of fracturing the tooth which can occur with silver amalgam fillings.
Reasons for composite fillings:
- Chipped teeth
- Decayed teeth
- Worn teeth
- Broken or cracked teeth
- Closing the gap between two teeth
If a filling is required, the affected tooth will be assessed and any decay will be removed. This new space will then be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the new filling to be placed. The composite filling will then be accurately placed, shaped and polished, restoring your tooth to its functionality.
